  International regulation obliged a person to hold passport and visa which is useful when visiting other countries to make the travel comfortable all visitors to Indonesia must be in possession of : Passport valid at least 6 month from arrival date with proof of onward passage

Visa Free Facility as of February 2004 are for the countries of Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Hong Kong Special Area, Macao Special Area, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will be issued within 30 days stay permit without charge. This visa is not extendable or convertible to any other type of visa

Visa On Arrival ( VOA ) as of August 1, 2005 facility is available for passport holders from the following countries, and one special territory : Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Luxemburg, Maldives, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, People's Republic of china, Taiwan, United State of America, United Arab Emirates, and United Kingdom.

VOA facility available at the following gateways. Airport Polonia Medan, Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru, Tabing Padang, Soekarno - Hatta Jakarta, Juanda Surabaya, Ngurah Rai Bali, Sam Ratulangi Manado. Sea Port : Sekupang, Batu Ampar, Nongsa, Marina Teluk Senimba, Batam Center, Bandar Bintan, Telani Lagri, Bandar Sri Udana, Lobam, Sri Bintan Pura, Belawan, Sibolga, Yos Sudarso, Teluk Bayur, Tanjung Priok, Padangbai, Benoa, Jayapura, Bitung, Tanjung Balai, Tanjung Mas, Tenau, Pare Pare, Soekarno - Hatta Makassar and Maumere.

Visa Type and cost : The 7 - day Visa On Arrival Cost US$ 10.00 per person, the 30 - day Visa On Arrival cost US$ 25.00 per person

Other countries not mentioned on Free Visa and Visa On Arrival, must apply visa overseas before arriving in Indonesia

Citizen wishing to stay more then 30 days in Indonesia must apply an appropriate visa at nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate before traveling to Indonesia.

Customs allows on entry a maximum of one liters of alcoholic beverages, 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 100 gram tobacco and a reasonable perfume per adult. Cameras, video cameras, portable radios, cassette recorders, binoculars and sport equipment are admitted, provided they are taken out on departure, and must be cleared for customs. Prohibited items are arms, narcotic, drugs, pornography, transceivers, and cordless telephone, films, pre-recorded tape and lasers, and laser disk must be screened by the Censor Board. Nor restriction of import and export of foreign currency, however the export and import of Indonesian currency the Rupiah, is prohibited to exceed Rp 5.000.000 ( five million rupiah ).
